okay guys this is a good one for ya, as pretty much everyone knows that you voltage regulator is seperate from your altinator (on the 70-72 buick skylarks) now they also have the altinators with the built in voltage regulator, now my questions is, is it possible to convert to the altinator with the built in regulator, if so is it do-able without buying a kit (maybe soldering so more wire to the where the stock voltage wire plug is, so that the wire can reach to the altinator, just guessing here)

the only reason im tying to do this is because i want to get rid of the voltage regulator on the firewall, free up some space, also because i already have a really nice built in voltage regulator altinator

oh by the way, if this makes any diff. the altinator was bought for a vette, but i see no diff between the vette altinator and my 1987 chevy pickup altinator, so i guess it would be concidered chevy

Its a fairly straight-forward swap. I did it a few years ago and everything turned out fine.
