Howdy all. Have a question about alternators. Who makes the best alternator? ,What brand? My 70GS keeps tearing up the local parts houses alternators. They do not seem to last very long. Thanks
I recently went on the great alternator hunt. Began with the usual suspect, AutoZone etc. and was not impressed. The product they have available looked like crap; black painted fan and all. I ended up biting the bullet, and getting an AC Delco unit from Poston and was very happy with the result. It ran me $60.00 but the look and fit of the AC Delco unit turned out be the ticket.
You probably made the best decision. I have had my share of aftermarket units and typically end up at a dealer or rebuilding my own. Ray
