    BuickLeSabre1960 Hot Dogs Anyone?

The alternator on my brothers '66 Pontiac Catalina seems to be going out, the amperage gauge on it jumps eraticly and sometimes goes constant at a high voltage. Is there anything else that could be causing this?:Do No:

Hi Gerig, I had something like that going on with my 70 GS and it turned out to be a loose ground. Checking those is free!! Just my .02..good luck:TU:

Sorry, I'm not sure....I was able to find some loose (not bad but not perfect) connections on my alternator and a hanging loose firewall ground strap. I crimped everything tight and reconnected the firewall strap and it cured my problem. He didn't recently install an MSD box did he?
