alternator conversion

    I want to convert my 61 skylark from a generator to an alternator, does any body know where I can find diagrams and/or the best alt to use?

    no need dude, I put one in my 57. You can get a one wire conversion from summit I put the 100 amp in mine and it worked great. if you would like a little info there is a bunch on the net. but you should have no trouble.
     
  3. if you need any parts for your swith let me know ghildebrand@wi.rr.com brackets, what ever i'll take a look as there are a few cars up here with motors in them yet

    57 gen/alt conversion

    I have a 57 model 73 looking to convert to alt. Looking for any advice I can get. Some help on the net is way too technical. You made it sound simple What or where is "summit". I have the gas pedal start and a 364 engine. Where are brackets available? I have air conditioner but have taken the compressor out so everything on that side is open. Thanks in advance for any hints.
