    Hi ALL!
I'm all ready to fire up my newly rebuilt 455 in my 86 regal . My problem is at the plug in on the altenator with a brown wire and a red wire. Red wire is short with a eyelet crimped on. Where does this go? I'm assuming it goes to the power stud on the back of the altenator because its so short? I know I should have labled it but as usual I thought I would remember! I have another 86 regal and the wiring is different, still has a red and brown wires but they both "disapear" into the wiring harness ( the red wire is long and goes into the firewall"
I'm all pumped at starting my new motor but I don't want to hook up the battery untill I know I won't fry something!

    Thanks Brad

Yes that wire goes to the stud on the back of the alternator. The brown wire is the trigger which runs to the alternator light on the dash.
