Air filter housing

    regarding American cars from 60-70’s
    What does the ( for lack of better words) air horn size and shape affect?

    You mean the snorkel on the air cleaner housing? It would reflect carb and engine size so it could provide the air charge needed for that particular engine.

    Sure does. On Buick’s and Olds 442’s I always ran quicker at the drag strip with no air cleaner at all. It was not a fluke as it happened every time I tried it, I never continued it though and always changed my oil after doing it.
