the button all the way to the right that says "air" doesn't turn on the air anymore. at first it worked but you had to push it alllll the way down for it to work and it was either on fully or off pretty much. now it's super loose and seems like the cable or w/e it pulls seemed to snap. i took of the top plate but it seems like you have to take off the knob with a small allen wrench maybe? how do i fix this? any help would be greatly appreciated

pic of what im talking about

take the speakercover off on top of the dash, you can see the cables from the top,the cable from the air switch runs to the main vacuum switch that is located on the heatercase.

On the backside of the knob is a little screw that you can unscrew with an allen wrench.

Real common problem on the 63-63 full size cars. The cables that the levers operate get rusty & wont move. The arms the cables attach to break because they are made of pot metal. It sounds like that has alread happened to you. You will need to remove the entire panel (with all the levers) to replace the arm(s). You can easily confirm that arm is broken by removing the speaker grille. You should be able to see it then. You really need remove & lubricate all four cables to prevent this from reoccouring. I have extra pot metal arms if you need them. Just PM me.
