I received all of my insurance info (Hagarty) last night and registered my GS today. I attached the plates and off I went. Today was the first time my GS has been operated on a road in over 5 years. Initially, it was misfiring, choking a bit but after 20 minutes of 40 mph driving on a long, straight road, it ran smooth as glass. Didn't push it as the motor has to be broken in but I logged ~ 100 trouble free miles on it.   Few little problems- the secondaries were not opening (couple of issues w/ the carb), the wheel weights on 3 rims shot off, and there is something banging under the floors (figure it's the boxed lowers or?). Also, the timing is still off- when I mananged to get the secondaries to open, it pinged like a hypereutectic (sp) piston running on 87 octane w/ 20 lbs of boost on it... Man, I am still grinning ear to ear!!!! Thanks to every board member who has helped me with advice, parts, and general knowledge. because of all of you, this car is now operational! Thanks :beer :beer :beer
I love that color! Congrats on the madien voyage.:TU: I'm about two years behind you, if I keep at it.
George I'll bet that taking her out for a spin for the first time had your heart rate up, palms sweating and mouth dry just like well you know :Brow: wink wink nudge nudge say no more.:TU: Sweet color combo Burgundy Mist / Black

Thanks everyone! I am off today so I think I'll spend the day burning through the tank of fuel I have in it. Alan, yes, as soon as things 'fall' into place... I will be down at the Jesey shore (possibly) the second or third weekend in September. I WILL be bringing A GS....
BTW- color is 2003 Corvette 50th Anniversary Maroon by Spies/Heckler. In the engine photo, you can see the color on the fender. I would rather have done black but the 'wife' talked me into a maroon... thanks:beer :beer :TU:
George beautiful car....congratulations on the final results of your project. Better keep your foot out of her until you fix the detonation deal...we don't want to hurt that new engine.:TU:
Thank you all for the compliments! Sadly, I sold the car last week :ball: :ball: :ball: :ball: :spank: :spank: :spank: . The sale was due to my life switching gears- marriage, school and a future house purchase. I only got to drive my Buick for 6 days- maybe a total of 250-300 miles before it was sold. Three and 1/2 years of blood, sweat and tears for 300 miles of pure ENJOYMENT! Luckily, the car was sold locally and I will be able to see it at cruise nights and car shows next year. I wish the new owner good luck and I hope to see him on this board (shortly). Please welcome him with open arms (as this board has always done). Thanks again!
A Little Is Better Then None! George, I know it must havebeen hard to sell ,But starting a Family is real cool! But I have to say I would have been :ball: , I hope your wife to be understands what you have done! Also I guess that it will be more comfortable to live in a house then in the car  ! Good Luck with school! Never forget the 6 days of FUN you had with her! Also Let us know the name of the guy who bought the car so we can WELCOME him. Don
