Good to see it's back! Thanks to Mike for the hard work, it looks nice!
Anyway, I have a 1977 Chevy truck w/ a 250 six. It has a crack on the exhaust manifold so I can't adjust the valves by backing off the rockers until they start to click. The exhaust leak not very loud, but enough to make it difficult to listen to the rockers! I know how to do a 455, but can't find the setup for the 250. I know that you adjust them in two steps, some when #1 is at TDC and then the others on the exhaust stroke. Anybody know?
    Thanks,

    From my Chiltons book

    Valve Lash Adjustment 1972-88

    1. Mark distributor housing at No. 1 and 6 plug wire positions. Remove cap w/ wires attached.
    2. Crank engine until rotor points to No. 1 cylinder and No. 1 piston is at TDC (both valves closed). Adjust the following valves:
    No. 1: Exhaust and Intake
    No. 2: Intake
    No. 3: Exhaust
    No. 4: Intake
    No. 5: Exhaust
    3. Back out the adjusting nut until lash is felt at pushrod, then turn adjusting nut in until all lash is removed. When all play has been removed, turn the adjusting nut in 1 full turn.
    4. Crank the engine until the rotor points to the No. 6 cylinder and No. 6 piston is at TDC (both valves closed). Adjust the following valves:
    No. 2: Exhaust
    No. 3: Intake
    No. 4: Exhaust
    No. 5: Intake
    No. 6: Intake and Exhaust

This is how the valves are arranged:

    Front: E I I E E I I E E I I E

    Hope this helps.
