I know this is not a Sportwagon but its a Buick wagon. I bought another Century Wagon, shes a 96 and loaded with options! The funny thing is its the same color as my 84 Century wagon I'm sure you all have seen. I'll post a pix tomarrow. What is it about wagons? I love em! :3gears: AL.
I think it is because wagons haul the mail. Today they build Suburbans, etc. . 40 - 30 years ago they put a long top on the cars and called them station wagons. Economies of scale killed them when demand taperred off, like the convertible. All the pre-SUV wagons are gaining popularity big time.
Lets see... why a wagon? The only race car you can haul your parts with. "Darn fine SUV you got there...hang on, I'll get the tow chains and Wagon here'll help pull ya outta that ditch" Anti theft built right into the shape! The only race car you can sleep comfortably in while waiting for the rain to clear at the track. Think stealth fighters surprise people? They have nothing on track wagons! No other car lets you say "girls sure love my woody!" Tailgate party. `nuff said. Haul your spares, slicks, race gear, and pit crew out to the track... no trailer or tow vehicle. 12's in a wagon feels better than 10's in anything else. Sure, install the speakers in the trunk that'll sound GREAT ou: Hauls 6, plus camping gear getting 5 MPG better than any SUV. "You need help moving a sofa to the new house? No worries, I'll bring the race car" 52/48 weight distribution - well if it's good enough for Porsche... "well sure, it's just a wagon...your neon will beat that" ...nope...can't think of a reason at all...
