    Glove Box Lock Removal and Install GM Muscle Cars

    Super easy job to do if you know what to do...check it out!
    This probably works on most all GM cars from the mid 60's through the mid 70's,
    but this specific lock is from a 68-72 Buick GS or Skylark.

    Great information, seems to be much easier than the mid 80's G bodies.

    Thank you for sharing this! I know it is useful information for us v8 members. There are several glove box lock videos out there, but most of them aren’t quick and dirty….or to the point. It’s like looking up recipes on the internet. They tell you your life story first. I think I’m going to start doing that from now on…short, to the point videos.

    Thanks Adam, I actually have to do this so I can re-stake the outer cover that came off on my Stage 2 project car.

    I'm kind of surprised that those bezels are just staked on like that. Thankfully, they're not usually in bad shape.

    My cover needed to be re-staked and this worked perfectly, putting in back in I think you have to use the key, that’s what I had to do.

    You can feed it back in using a small screwdriver to bump those tabs down, just like removing it. I've never used a key with one. Although it probably helps.

    Hey a allen wrench would take that hex thing out as well id imagine. Just another option. Great video. Ill share it on my social media.

    Thanks! The "hex" piece is actually an octagon, so unless you happened to find a hex wrench that would work, it won't LOL. It's never very tight, so it doesn't take much effort to get them apart.

    Hex = 6 (these are allen wrenches)
    octo = 8
