One thing I hate is when stupid painters don't do a proper job and paint rubber parts without at least masking them.

That is what happened with the part shown on the pic (I called it accordion pipe as I had no other words  )

Rather than taking them out and try to scratch the paint, I wonder if I can find new (or good condition) ones. Is is specific to Full Sizes Buicks of these years (71 73) or is is a standard part that fits any door ?

The less fun will be to unplug all the wires and put them back.
But I hate so much opening the door an having these red rubbers splashing at may eyes !
An the f..painter had done the same shame on all non painted parts, door switch, locks, rubber bumpers (I found these new)etc... :moonu: :blast:

Why don't you take them off and soak them in brake fluid? Brake fluid attacks paint but loves rubber. Kevin

That's a good idea....brake fluid..... :TU: I think those are called boots......of some kind. I've seen replacements somewhere when I remember where I'll post it. :Dou:

There is a difference between the A and B body boots. There are more ribs in the big car boots. They have something like 13 ribs, and the A body boots have 8...I think.

I only know that because we did a comparison here on the board a few months ago...and I had to go count my ribs:laugh:

I have pictures somewhere. Heck I think they're here on the board somewhere.

Us fanatics have to stick up for ourselves sometimes:grin:

The Parts Place has replacements. Adam is correct that they are different sizes for full size and Larks. I thought it was 11 & 8 but I could be wrong on that one.
If the boot is good try the brake fluid. Works good :TU:

Thanks for the suggestion of brake fluid. :TU: I knew it "attacks" paint, but not to the point to dissolve it. I'll let you know.
Now need to hope the way the wires are plugged between themselves or to the electric devices will not require dismantling all the car !

my 1975 buick masterparts books says that all 71-75 B,C,E bodies all take the same conduit for the front doors ... i imagine 76 is the same too on these models.

group 10.778 part#9837507 is what i found in my book. if someone else has a book ..please compare to confirm and/or shut me up
