so i drove my car here and there yesterday. today when i started her up, she didnt sound like normal, felt like a real rough idle, when i stepped on the gas o rev it up some, it felt like the car was missing or that its wasnt gettin enough fuel. when i took off out of the garage, it still did the same thing, felt rough or missing, lack of power. at a stop she stalled out so i kinda had to keep giving the car some gas to keep going. i dont know where to start and dont want to damage the car. what do you guys think, im on here everyother week with a new question, i just want my baby to run!!! any help please!! rick
what kind of car...year?..does it have points or electronic ignition...? was there anything you did to the car before its started acting up..? hows it run while in idle ? could be many differ items ..fuel pump...ignition/cap/rotor/timing..bad spark plugs/plug wires...or carb ....vacum leak in the meantime check for any vacume leaks from any hoses...
I would start by checking out what the plugs look like. Rich or lean ? Then start checking other things. John
its a 1967 buick lesabre, 340, points. did nothing to the engine, just got it back from the shop about a week ago for some electrical work. at idle its still pretty rough but doesnt die out, only die while in drive. its very odd to me though, that yesterday the car ran fine, no problem at all, and this morning, its was all whackd out!! i dunno. any other help. thanks guys for the replies.
