Crower has had a 494 rod of mine for 3 mo. now. The order was to make 2 new ones and rebalance the damaged one. Two days a go I was called by meria at crower and she asked me how I wanted them shiped. I told her nex day air. I thought the talk with dave crower must have paid off, and the 3 hrs. of phone tag was worth the pain. That was two days ago. To day I got the word they were still in balancing. If they treat the little guy like this. May be some one has some ideas of a good qulity rod builder with some good coustmer service. Please Dont be shy all inputs appreciated.

My experience with Crower was similar. Good products but lousy service and LONG waits. I started running GRP aluminum rods five or six years ago and they are pretty quick to make and deliver them. The Crower steel rods were great stuff but every time I needed a pair of rods made (I blew up a few motors) they said it would be 6-8 weeks and it wound up taking 12 weeks. I've been told that it doesn't matter who you are, big customer or small, at Crower you're gonna wait! I can't vouch for GRP on steel rods and I don't know for sure if they even make 'em, but they're good with the aluminums. Good Luck!
