Although there are v-6 turbo cars that can run those times and faster. They don't make that NASCAR sound when coming off the throttle.
Is it true about the dyno pull in 5th gear throwing results off (in the higher than true way)? Either way, thats definitely cool.
I know you want to run on the dyno in 1:1, so if he had a 5 speed with a 1:1 5th, I would say it would be right. I do not know what would happen to the hp numbers in a od gear. Check out the graphs and the Vette was holding around 1000 and then just blipped to the max hp. The Buick hybrid was well over 1000 steady. Who has a link to the Vette buildup. That thing sounds sweet. I'd like to know how he hooked up so well. Just curious.
What gear you're in shouldn't make any difference, except that whichever gear has a 1:1 ratio should theoretically read slightly higher because it's more efficient. How can having the tranny in overdrive make the numbers higher than they "should" be ? Overdrive will cause the rear-wheel rpm to be higher, but the torque will be lower, so when the rwhp is calculated (HP = torque x rpm / 5252), it should end up the same. Just the same as putting in lower rear-end gears won't give you more rwhp because even though they multiply the torque more, the rear-wheel rpm goes down, so hp is still the same.
I was over at the Z06 forum minding my own and I see a post about a GNX so I go and watch the vid for it. I am thinking to myself that brings back some not to far off memories of looking at the back of a GN at Sacramento Drags so i hit another link to some more movies and there is the GN that outran me. Mark E you got braging rights untill I learn to drive then I will be looking for you! :TU:
