    Poppaluv I CALL WINNERS!!!

    Hello all,

In Nov. I slipped is some water that collected from a malfunctioning a.c. unit at work. 6 MONTHS later they finally fixed it. Anyway started having severe leg and lower butt pains., but continued to work anyway through the pain. Thanxgivin' night went to E.R. 'cause doc friend tsaw swollen effect and thought I may have a Blood clot . :( Ultra sound showed negative. Still worked. Almost cancelled trip to Ireland and Amsterdam but went anyway with much discomfort. Two days before leaving it made it's way up to my lower back (where I reconized it as Sciatic) . Stayed in the suite Fri and SAt (our last days!!!!) BARELY made our way through the war protesters w/ all of my luggage, and the 9 hour flight to Newark another 3 hours to N.O.. Been going to chiro and that helped greatly. Last week something happened and I couldn't MOVE at all without crying like a baby( never blubbered like that in my life). Workmans comp asked my monm if i was DEAD when she requested an ambulance for me.She almost drove the 90 minutes to Baton Rouge to-ah "straighten him out" Neighbor gave me 4
PAIN PILLS which I "activated with 2 beers.:beer That was enough for me to CRAWL into the bed of my moms truck.
Ortho looked at x-ray for a split-second a nd said he couldn't believ i was in motion and workink for all these months:eek2:bad disc . Damage unknown. I'm crying as I write this because I'm scared of what Mondays MRI will show. Anyway I know this is a long-drawn -out tale, but I was hoping to maybe be in your thoughts. I'm not a deeply religious person, I would hope we are here not by accident and ther is a reason for all of this so I live by "karma" and "the golden rule" so to speak. So any good wishes or advice would be VERY appreciative!
    Thanx fellas:TU:

I will pray for you and your family

Now that God has your attention, let me say that you have a unique thing here as you contemplate your next few days. Please take this post from me as not being a smarty but constructive. God is in control. As much as we as humans want to try to change things, in the end God is in control.

I'm looking at those times in our lives when there are no answers. Mary and Martha faced that situation when Lazarus died. Why didn't Jesus come and heal him? They could not understand why.

We all remember the end of this story; Jesus did meet their need by performing an incredible miracle and raising Lazarus from the dead. In this case, Mary and Martha finally got answers, as they saw their brother come forth after four days in that tomb.

So, eventually Martha and Mary could say to each other, "When it looked as though Jesus had forsaken us, he really was working on our behalf to do something even greater than we could imagine."

Sometimes it works out like that. We go through the no-answer period, the circumstances which make no sense to us whatsoever, but at a later date, in God's time, we are able to see what God's good purpose was.

Maybe you are now in that tough place where Mary and Martha were initially. You're wondering why Jesus hasn't come to you; you're feeling unloved and neglected by him. Please do take courage and remember that often we misunderstand God's timetable. It may be that you will soon see the deliverance of God and your eyes will be opened to understand the why's.

But what about those of you who don't get those answers? Your Lazarus never comes out of the tomb. You're left to face those unanswered questions for the rest of your life.

You know, I believe for Christians, it is extremely difficult to face the fact that God is not going to answer our questions, and we'll never know why certain things happen. After all, we're supposed to have answers, aren't we? We've always told people that Jesus is the answer, Jesus can meet all their needs. Therefore, those unanswered questions can undermine our faith and cause us to doubt the God we serve.

I want to say to you who have unanswered questions that God is not going to condemn you for asking the questions, for feeling anger at the unjust circumstances. He even understands that you're likely to go through a period of being angry at him. God is big enough to handle our anger.

But your light will break forth and your peace will come when you give up the questions that have no answers, and reaffirm that even in the midst of confusion, you still trust the God who you know is faithful and good.

One of my favorite gospel songs is "I am not ashamed of the gospel, the gospel of Jesus Christ." The words go: "I am not afraid to be counted, for I'm willing to pay the price." It's a great song, but I wonder, do we sing the truth when we sing these words?

Let's face it, we live in a culture that has conditioned us to feel stupid or weird if we talk about religion, especially if we are enthusiastic about it. And so we grow up with this idea that sharing the gospel is an unnatural, awkward, aggressive endeavor that irritates people and invades their space. In Romans 1:16 Paul wrote:

"I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the

salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile."

When we have the right understanding of the gospel, we realize that the most compassionate, caring, loving thing we can do for anyone is to tell them the truth of the gospel-truth that will set them free as it has set us free. WHAT IS THE GOSPEL? The gospel is good news. What's difficult about sharing good news? Everybody needs the gospel. Nobody can spend eternity with God unless they know and accept the gospel. If we care at all about people, we have to see how important it is to give the gospel to them.

Just in case there is any confusion, let's spell out very plainly what the good news is:

Man is a sinner. Man cannot save himself.
God is holy. Sin cannot enter his presence.
Because he loved the world, God sent his Son to die as a perfect sacrifice for our sins, so that they could be washed away.
Jesus has died, been buried, and has rose again in the flesh, conquering death and sin.
In order for an individual to be acceptable to a holy God, that person must receive the righteousness of Christ as a gift, so that they can be wrapped up in his righteousness and therefore acceptable to God.
Accepting the righteousness Christ offers means we must confess that we are a sinner and can do nothing to save ourselves. We must profess our faith in Christ and Christ alone-with our lips-and proclaim that we have placed our trust in Jesus.
Then we are made new creatures in Christ and the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in our bodies.

Sorry this was long but well worth the reading.... I have added you to my prayer list.........

1 As God's fellow workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain.

2 For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation.
