    Hi

One of my small bars that are on the top has gotten bent beyond repair:( . If someone has a spare one, and don't want an arm and a leg for it, then I might be interested in it. I don't care if it's all corroded and doesn't have the original color or this and that. I just want the top to be complete, and functional. Here's a picture of it.

All help is as always greatly appreciated.

    Kimson,

It might help if you gave a little more info, like what model the car is, year, etc.

Kimson, I asked Greg if he could search a yard for it.

The car is a 1972 Centurion if i remember.

Hi, Please don't send someone out to look for stuff, unless they're going there anyway. Makes me feel quilty or something. No offense. I was at "Memory Lane" today where they have three convts. Two centurions and a LeSabre. One Centurion is missing the whole thing, the other is missing two bars, and the LeSabre top looks pretty good. I asked for the piece on the one with the two missing parts, and they said 50$. I thought this was quite alot for such a small piece, so the manager came out to have a look at it. He said the top was complete so he didn't want to sell the piece. It's missing two large pieces, but he didn't eh... want to see that. I bet that in four years time, that top will still be there... So I left, hoping to get it somewhere else. I know Smartins car came with the top wraped in bungy cords, and then he got a replacement. Maybe he kept the old one for spares?

The car is as you said a 72 Centurion.

    Many thanks for the help.

those are the "ball joint" second bow link assemblies.
they are extreemley important to have functioning correctly.

putting the top up or down without those mounted correctly can cause damage to your top frame and/or top canvas.
a new pair can be bought at www.hydroe.com . they are about 115 bux for the pair. a small price top pay compared to the damage that can result from not properly addressing the problem.

with help from the side tension cables, they help the second bow keep the top frame properly aligned when raising or lowering the top.

    Hi

I'll wait on the right moment for the used one to come by. I can't drive with the top up anyway, because of no rear visbility. So no rush, I'll just keep the top down where it's always been anyway. 118$ for a new set is a little bit too much for me. Maybe I'll have someone weld it, and I'll file it down so it fits. Right now I've had to fixa a brake hose, and I can't keep pouring $ into it all the time. I just got a new dashboard from a 72 Limited in prefect condition for 8$. Made my day!!!

    Many thanks for the help.

another function of the second bow link assemblies is to keep the top frame side rails a specific distance apart and from exerting too much outward pressure on the side windows,
