Well, I'm in the process of switching out a 350 for a 74' 455 in a 70 skylark. Can anyone tell me what kinda performance i'll notice. I've been told buick is the Torque God. All I care about is getting to 60 before everyone else...

    I'm pretty sure you'll see a jump of almost 100 more ft/lbs.

    what year of a 350?

if ya look at the #'s on a '70 350 either a two barrel or aspecially a 4 barrel (higher compresion) then look at a '74 455 which only has 8 to 8.5 comp. and sh*ty heads and and even worse intake , i wouldnt expect much more horsepower just a little torque . id have to think to build the 350 (assumin it is a '70 with good heads) or find aset of better earlier heads and a aftermarket intake for that 74 motor. the later 455's arnt all the earlier ones were . a 430 or 70 or 71 455 would shock ya compared to the '74. still beware if ya are runnin a 350turbo , ya might need to rebuild it to handle more torque , just something to think about, laters-steve
