hEY THERE GUYS. iT SEEMS EVERYONE BUT ME HAS A STAGE 1, ON HERE ANYWAYS. mINE IS A 70 BUICK SKYLARK 350.4, BUT I'M HALF WAY THROUGH A 74' BUICK 455 REBUILD. aS IT TURNS OUT IT'S EITHER GOT STAGE 1 HEADS, OR LARGE VALVES, AS I HEAR ARE VERY SIMILAR. hEADS HAVE BEEN REDONE WITH NEW STAGE1 VALVES 1.750 AND 2.125. TA performance valves stronger springs installed. Does anyone have anything positive to say about non stage 1 car.hopefully these heads, and 455 will step my car up into a whole new speed zone.... FUN FUN..... any pics of nice looking skylarks non stage 1, 1970 would be awsome.....

for $400 , $50 a month payments, I picked it up and this is what it llooked like on the day I drove her home.... I've posted updated pics in members ride area.

Let not your heart be troubled.. there are more Stage1 cars out there now than Buick ever built I'd bet. Mine included. The previous owner took a GS 350, transplanted a 455 and added Stage 1 badges. Killed me to find out it wasn't for real but set me free to do whatever I wanted to the car (which I've done). Problem was I felt obligated to the Buick world to make it run at least as good as a stock Stage 1 car (which I've done). If I had a Lark I'd probably keep the stock badges, pump the 455 right up and spank all the unsuspecting street cars I could. Sleepers are ultra-cool.

    Plain ol' Skylark Custom

Here is my plain 72 Skylark Custom. Part of me is glad that I don't have a GS, because I would probably not do the things that I did to this car, to it. With a Skylark, you are not afraid to modify it at all. It is now a 455 (70 SF code)with stardard small valve heads.

    Interior

Here is my tweed interior stitched in the same style as the original 72. Even had a pump up lumbar support in the drivers side.
