A handy tip for those with leaky windshield seals

  1. if your project car has leaky front or rear window seals and you cant park it inside during the rainy season I have a foolproof tip to prevent water from getting in your car. pick up a roll of carpet protector film at home depot or your fav home improvement business. apply it on the bottom half of the windshield first making sure to go well below the bottom seal area. then apply the second layer overlapping the lower layer slightly and also going about 3-5 inches above the top of the windshield edge. I also did the rear window on the 66 because it leaked horribly and between the front and rear I would get over an inch of standing water inside the car after a heavy rain period. this leaves no permanent residue on the window or paint and is fairly easy to remove. this particular car rusted from the inside out and all the moisture destroyed interior chrome and pot metal trim. al;l caused by being parked outside uncovered with leaking front and rear windows. once I tried this trick the car has not been wet inside since last September
