I dont know if these questions have been ask on other forums but here it goes.

My 65 Skylark has a leaky exhaust. Apparantly the previous owner thought he was being funny fixing it with flex-pipe. :af: So anyway my questions are did the 65 skylark have straight dual exhaust or was there an "X" pipe. And does anybody have schematic for the exhaust system.

    Thanks much,
    Scott

Scott - I am no expert on the 65, but the car could have come with either single or dual exhaust depending on the engine and options. It did not have an "X" pipe as that is more recent technology. If you are looking to replace it there are several alternatives for you to consider depending on what you want to do with the car. A popular system consists of a dual 2 1/2 mandrel bent with "X" pipe. Systems can be purchased thru many vendors including GSCA, TA, Postons, etc. Midas can install a system as well. You can use the "search" button above and look at many threads on this topic. You can find a schematic for the exhaust system in the shop manual or any Walker catalog ( your jobber should have one, he may make you a copy.)
