a/c the same in 70-72?

    are the a/c units the same from 70-72...or are there diff units installed in diff factorys? mine was made in fullerton...a nice gentlemen intendes on selling me an a/c unit from 70...mines a 72...will they interchange?? help goldenoldie

    Guys only the compressor is different I believe. I think the 72 has a different feature. called super heat.

    Yes, and the only real difference in the compressors is the hole for the superheat switch. They can be used in older applications leaving the switch disconnected (or by grounding the compressor clutch through the switch, IIRC) Some compressors have a plug in the hole.
