I've been wanting to get rid of my A/C in my 70 skylark for a while now. LAst night on Ebay I saw a a/c heater box delete. It looks similiar to the box for a non a/c car, but simply takes the place of the a/c box that hangs off the firewall. Anyone use this or see one? Do you think its cheesy to ditch the a/c in a nice car? The a/c was working and most of the parts are new, it just takes up so much room and is cluttered. Any opinions?

It all depends upon what YOU want to do with the car. If the added weight and cluttered appearance bother you that much, and you don't mind being uncomfortable in the summer heat, then take it out.

In my opinion, unless it's a all out race car, I think it's a bad idea because you will take much away from the value of the car. An old car with working a/c is pretty cool. :bglasses:

buickgsman i have been looking at them on ebay for the last year or so now, i think if your going to remove the other a/c parts then i think it is a good way to get rid of the firewall box and free up some space.
