I have started the process of trying to figure out what is needed to get the A/C working on my 70GS455. It currently has a A/C compressor that has the smaller diameter clutch/pulley. I have found the compressor that came on the car originally but it looks awful and probably has debris inside if it from laying out in the elements sometime in the past... I would like to find a nice A/C compressor(70GS455), with any/all the hoses and hose insulators etc.to get this system working. Thanks Bert
Bert, If you know someone with the correct tools you can have the larger diameter pulley installed on your working AC compressor. Maybe someone here can help you. Duane
Hey Bert, I ran into the same problem awhile ago. I had an original compressor with a toasted clutch. I took it to my local garage/gas station with a new clutch and to my surprise they had the tools to service it. Save as much as the original if possible.
Hose insulators? Thanks guys, I will have the pulley swapped. Where can I get the correct hose insulators? I have been looking at pictures from the Nationals and it seems each car has the A/C hoses and insulators in a different location. Anybody got a picture/drawing of the proper routing and location? Thanks Bert
