I want to re-install the a/c on my car, but do not want the weight or drag of the factory compressor.

So, lets here what the buick community has come up with... Vintage Air not included. This is to be a "budget " job and I do understand that the bracketry will need to made...

We used to have A/C installed in Cheap cars and trucks when I was in the "car biz". These compressors were dinky little units but did keep T1000s and S-10s cool.

Almost all newer cars have light weight efficient units, too. Some creative bracketing would be required but seems you could junkyard a compressor, hoses and misc. parts for less than $100.

Maybe a unit from a newer truck or RWD car, like a Crown Vic, would be the best choice for adapting to your motor.

Pancake GM compressors are very unreliable and not much lighter than the Harrison long.
