A/C Brackets 350 vs 455

    Are the A/C compressor mounting brackets different between a 350 and 455
    on a 70 GS? i have someone interested in the system I have on a 70 GS im parting and need to knwo about the bracket interchangability :Do No:

    Larry, if you use the 350 stuff, you need to use all all the 350 brackets, or vice versa. You can't mix or mingle much. At least with my 350 - 455 swaps, that is what I have encountered. Get your garage done yet? You are running out of time. Take care Tony

    garage is getting very close, little more wireing to finish and its insulation time. lift should be here in about a week.
    thanks for the bracket info. do you mean all the brackets as in ps , alt and air , or just all the ac brackets?

    The lower bracket that holds the alternator and compressor interchanges. I think the top bracket that goes from the intake to the top front of the compressor MAY be motor-specific(?)

    The lower ac brkts are all the same....either aluminum or welded steel.

    The upper triangular brkt for a 350 has a threaded hole above the adjustment slot. The 455 brkt has the hole in-line with the slot.

    The water pump to alt to ac brkt is specific too. The 455 version is about 1.25" longer and you can not make the 350 version work on a 455.
