I need a blower motor resistor for my 71 Skylark with AC. Searched all the local parts places and couldn't find one. :blast:

    I would appreciate it.

    Thanks

I had to find a used one from a junkyard. They are different for different years. different numbers of prongs. If yours is bad it will have a visible break in one of the coils in the back. maybe it could be sodered. Try and find someone here parting an AC 71 or check local yards or try large western yards the advertize in Hemmings. Ask them to check with Ohms meter before the send it.

The problem with mine is that the 2nd Highest speed doesn't work correctly and after about an hours driving all the speeds slow down alot and the air not nearly as cold.

You want a picture of my resistor. Correct?

Are my symptoms of a screwed resistor?

They may be. Take out the resistor by disconnecting the wires and remove two screws. Look at the back and see if spring coils have burned or broken section.

maybe worth checking with a trained Ac guy as well. Low temp may be other problems. Bad resistor usually means some fan speeds do not work at all.
