"A" Body frames????

    I have a fellow that has a 68 442 and the frame needs replaced. Does anybody know if that year will interchange with any other 'A" body.

    Yes, if they are from the same boby line ie. 2 dr hdtp.

    Also, some year coupes had the option for a 'heavy duty frame' ; they used a convertible frame under a coupe!
    But like Korrie said, any same year group frame will work. 68-72 coupe from any GM A-body.

    Rick,
    I had a 72 442 fastback and knew the floor for the rear seat area was different then other A-bodies, but I believe the frames were the same as all the others. If your buddy has one of them then a few measurements to check that might be in order. It's been a long time since I messed with a 442.
