Shopping for a 97 Riv in the ND-MN-SD-IA-MT-WI region. Not looking for a beater, but a car in pretty good shape, and in reliable mechanical condition. This will be my daily transportation, as it's time to sell off my wife's ex-van, that I've been driving since last fall.

Not interested in shipping a car to ND either, must be within a day's drive of Fargo ND. Either reply here or PM me. :Comp:

Too crowded. In fact, it's the first time I've driven or even sat in a newer model Regal. Just not enough leg or elbow room for me. I have a lead on a 97 Riv in WI now, just have to find out the $$ and see pics. Decent miles, and sounds well-taken care of.

    $$$$

Not interested in the 95/96 model years, and prices start to get beyond my budget in a 98/99. Even 97's have a huge range of asking prices if you do some internet searches. I've seen 85k mile 97's listed for anywhere from $4k to $10k. There's a 97 about 2 hrs south of me, mileage in the 80's, that's close enough in price that I'm thinking about going to take a look. Now get this, there's an almost identical mileage and condition 98 car a couple hours in the Opposite direction, and his asking price is double the one to the south of me. Both are at dealerships, which doesn't help my buying power.

I do have a line on a nice, well-maintained, 84k 97 SC in WI, just waiting on pictures and a price. He's a reputable guy in the Buick community, and he's taken very good care of the car, he's the 2nd owner. But he's busy with projects, and I have to be patient while he tries to find time to get pics and figure out what he needs for it. He hadn't been advertising it, but they had been thinking about selling it, and contacted me after I posted on the Riv email list.

Not saying I wouldn't go for a 98 or 99 of course, but in good shape, they are likely to be out of my reach.

There's a 2000 Regal in the paper here this weekend for the 1st time, but the moron that listed it, has apparently taken a long weekend out of town, and so far is not returning calls. Not my 1st choice, but better than not finding a Riv I can afford. :Do No:
