This has been my tow vehicle for the past 4 or 5 years. Many of you have most likely seen it at the Nat's in BG, or Salem. It's been an excellent truck. Pulled my 28 ft enclosed with no trouble. I'm going through a Divorce and I'm buying a new truck just for ME, so this one must GO!

I'm asking $5995. It's not perfect, but it's a lot of truck for that money. If I don't sell it here, it'll go to racejunk.com.

Call 920-684-6776 or PM me. I'm in WI

What do you get for mileage pulling a 28 footer ? I thought that the front would look like my 92 has that been changed ? Hows the inside ?

    Hi John,
Depending on weather, wind, etc, I always got between 8 and 11 MPG when towing. It doesn't really matter if the trailer was empty, or with a vehicle. I think it becomes more of a wind resistance issue more than the weight. That mileage is very typical for any gas powered truck.

The truck is a Cheyanne, and not a Silverado, that's why the difference in front ends. I kinda like it being a little different.

I don't have any pics of the inside, but I can take some and post them today.
The interior is a medium blue. It's a very good, powerful, dependable truck for the money. I mainly used it for long distance pulling. Very few short trips.

    Thanks, Steve

Some interior pics. Notice, these pictures are taken "as is". I did not have time to clean it up yet, and I'm not going to any time real soon as it's not even above zero here!! I'll get it looking better with some elbow grease when the weather breaks.
    Thanks, Steve

Steve , this question is for you or anyone else that might know . I like your truck but am wanting a dually . My wife says she doesn't care about the trans as she wont be driving it . Can this truck with a bed change and rear axle change become a dually or is there more to it ?

    staged70,

The rear axle is the same, as far as the center section, axles, etc goes. The thing I'm not sure on is the width of the axle, "hub to hub". If you'd put a set a dually wheels on it, I'm not sure you'd have the correct wheel offset. Some one else here may know. I also have a buddy that may know. I'll call him tonight and ask.

The front hub and wheel assemblies are different. They're no less than a dually, as far as strength goes, just not the same dimensionally. In order for it to look correct, you would need to buy the spacers. I've seen "kits" avaliable to convert to a dually. Perhaps a web search could find the correct info.
I'll let you know what I find out.
    Thanks, Steve

I just talked to my buddy that has done a lot of these swaps. He said just what I suspected, the center is the same, but the width is different. The front can be widened with a "kit". The rear "fenderets" can be added to the existing box.
Can I ask why you want a dually? This configuration is much better to get around with and pulls exactly the same. I know, because I've pulled my trailer with this truck and a newer dually, and you can't tell ANY difference! Also a lot cheaper for four tires vs six.
Let me know what you think.
    Thanks, Steve

Steve , I have pulled trailers for about 30 years and have used everything from a car with air shocks to a F350 dually . When I pull a enclosed trailer with a single wheel truck and get into a cross wind I do not like the feeling of the trailer moving around and making the truck move . I have pulled with a freinds F350 and that truck has the sweetest tracking with a 36 foot enclosed I have ever experienced . I have never owned a enclosed of my own or a dually so I always just grit my teeth in cross winds and move on . Now that I am finally getting to the resto of my Suncoupe I would like my investment in the safest transport mode available . One year leaving BG we actually had to park under an overpass while a tornado went by . I know that a dually would not help in that reguards but the wind currents from the approaching storm were making it tough to stay on the road . My buddy went right thru it all with his car in tow and told me that he will never pull without dual wheels again . So I have some first hand experience with it and several friends that use dually's and swear by them . Problem is every dually is out of reach at this point and I have borrowed my friends trucks too much and need a tow vehicle of my own , I also need to selkl my 92 GMC to assist in the purchase

    John,
All things being equal I'd agree, but I ALWAYS use a load eqalizing hitch, AND a sway control. I did a rough calculation and I estimate that I have over 40,000 miles of towing car trailers. I've been in tornados (yes, more than one!) myself, so I know what you mean, but I never had a bit of trouble , WITH the RIGHT equipment. Also, what kind of two wheel drive truck did you pull with? 3/4 ton or 1 ton? There is a big difference.

A dually will be a little more stable, it's just a matter of physics, but all I'm saying is that with the proper added equipment, the difference is negligible.

The choice is strictly yours though, as YOU'RE the one that needs to feel comfortable!!

    Thanks anyway, Steve
