Nice and clean positraction unit for 9 3/8 axle. Carrier is used with 2:73, 2:93, and 3:23 gear sets. $175.00 + shipping.

if you have a 71 and up full size Buick with the 9 3/8 axle this unit will work for you with the mentioned gear ratios.

ok anyone know were you can get a unit for the earlier cars like my brothers 65 Riv? He wants 323s but anything will do. I have a posi out ofa 66 or 67 i think. The rear has a cover that comes out the back and not like my brothers 65 were it looks likea 9inch or 83/4 mopar. Could i use this unit in my brothers carrier??

    Thanks Doug

I recall the early 70s Lesabre 455s also used the 9 3/8" rear. This is how I read the parts books. Later, and I do not know the year, they went to the 8.88". Maybe someone else can confirm this.

My info was out of a 1973 Buick dealer catalog, I don't know on other years.

Based of this I looked at some parts book references to Group 5. it covers gears and related parts. I cannot find any reference to 8.8" gearsets until the 73 model year. Maybe this is the year of the transition of some models away from 9 3/8" gearsets.
