Looking for the banjo bolt that holds the rear brake line junction block to the rear diff on an '87 GN. Have the part number but it's discontinued with no superceded part number, and GM doesn't say what thread or length it is. GM OEM part number is 15630743. Anybody know what size the bolt is, or have a source for one? I've checked CARS and TPP but they don't list it or I can't find it. Thanks!

I haven’t taken one apart in a while, but I’m pretty sure it’s just a longer bolt that’s only half threaded. No fluid travels thru it.

If Tim cant help, I have one off a '64 8.2. They should be the same... Wait a second! Is that a rear cover bolt or through the block ON TOP of the housing like the '72? ws

Yeah no fluid. Should be a normal 5/16" bolt.

Alright, thanks fellas. It's for my brother, he texted and asked me if I knew where he can get one but he said it was a banjo bolt, but of course his is missing so nothing to compare to. Of course his might be "missing" if he is looking around his shop for a banjo and not just a regular old bolt. I'll double check with him to have him make sure later today and get back.

Perfect. Thanks Tim. Looks like a regular old bolt with no need for a banjo. I'll pass it along to him.

If the judges hopp down underneath with a 1/2 wrench, look out! I think that bolt has about a 90% shoulder into the block and then 1/2" worth of threads. Probably a grade 6 or 8 with a big flat washer as I showed earlier. At least that is whats on mine... ws
