Seat can recline, using black side lever..

Seat can fold forward, using black side lever and small black knob on back.

Seat has no intermediate positions. 20220122_115433.jpg

These two flat parts with teeth sticking out the bottom do not move relative to each other -- I assume that they are supposed to do so and teeth are supposed to engage allow for intermediate seat back positions. Thoughts / solutions, other than PB Blaster?

Also, I need a pic of a correct back release knob. Mine do not match.

Problem solved! 48 hour soak with PB Blaster and I suddenly have an operational mechanism. Kinda surprised it would sieze up, but it has been 35 years...

There is supposed to be a black egg-shaped/ comma shaped piece of plastic between the mechanism and the seat cushion itself to be sure no material gets caught in the mechanism. I have seen a few seats made that do not have that plastic in position. Make sure to put it between the seat cushion and mechanism. One of the bolts goes through the mechanisn, then the plastic (Pc 6 in illustration) and into the upper seat cushion ! Then the outer trim parts go on.

Whatever you are talking about, it is most assuredly not there. Got a pic? or a spare?

    A) Which is correct?
    B) Does anybody have the one I need?
