Hi , one of my friend would like to have some info about his 1981 Turbo T-Type Regal V6 3.8L 4bbl (turbo) . Still have the original mechanic apart . -The decoding of the VIN : 1g4ak4737chxxxxxx -How many 81 Turbo T-type were produced ? Thank you edit : I have the wrong year in the title , doh !
I have a book written by Steven Dove, called the facts and figures book, and it lists 1981 t-type cars at 2,891 for total production, Jon
Tell your friend that it's really a 1982 model year car. The 10th digit says it was built in that model year. A = 1980 B = 1981 C = 1982 Too bad that it's not a GN, pretty rare with only 215 produced for model year 1982 But with a total production of 2022 cars, the model year 1982 K47 Regal Sport Coupe Turbo V6 is also a rare car.
The decoding of the VIN : 1g4ak4737chxxxxxx 1G4 = U.S.A. , General Motors, Buick Motor division A = Non-Passive Restraint Manual Belts K = Regal Sport 47 = 2dr 3 = 3.8 4bbl ( LC8 ) 231-3 Turbo 7 = Check Digit C = Year, 1982 H = Flint xxxxxx = VIN Sequence
It's hard to tell from this photo. The model year 1982 Regal grille has 16 vertical sections, the 1983 model year Regal grille has 8 vertical sections.
Does any of you knows how to decode the cowl tag on this 82 ? ------------------------------- 82 11B 4GJ47 H 100764 13B 84L 80T L AM6 C04 CC1 -------------------------------- Thank you
