I remember seeing pics in a forum somewhere of a yellow 80's Buick Regal or Grand National with GSX stripes on it. Does any one have pictures or link to it?
It was for sale last year on racing junk. Its from the Chicago area. I dont have any pictures of it though..

Do you guys think its a cool look, to a Buick Regal like that? it kinda grows on me. Maybe PPG Sunset Pearl Orange, With the black Stripes and chrome, nothing blacked out?
Oh man... I am in love with that car. I've never really cared for when people GSX one of the pre-70 cars, it just looks wrong, but I think the Regal is different enough that it makes a really sharp tribute.
If it wasn't for the GSX paint theme, I don't even acknowledge Regals, but I saw it up close at a Chicago GSCA meeting, and it's pretty awesome, 455 & all! Done the right way, yes, this is an exceptional example! I like the hood stripes on the '69 GSX, similar to the '70 Prototype GSX! I don't know if it's the colors, or the body style, or what, but that '69 GSX reminds me more of a GTO Judge, instead!
jonm & Joe Kelsch Thanks Guys!! Awesome pictures ,Was trying to get a feel on how the stripes were done. Didn't know it was powered by a Buick 455... thats cool:bglasses: !! What kind of rear wing you guys think it's being used? 84 Hurst Olds?
Chris, let me know - I can put you in touch with the guy that "created" the one in the Chicago area. He's not owned it for several years now, but he can answer any of your questions. Take care, Shari
While I was typing my reply Shari beat me to it, I originally built that car in 1997, we used a die cast GSX to get started with the stripes and my friend Jimmy (gone but not forgotten) from Metal Mites in Riverside used pictures I laid out on the computer to lay out the stripes by hand, truly a gifted artisan. Yes it is a Firebird spoiler we used. It started as a T-Type and I put a worked over 455 in it. I was overloaded with cars at the time and regrettably sold it, the new owners (2 i think) messed with the engine and added the wheels. The first 2 photos show it at the Gorilla Days cars show the Chicagoland chapter used to have in Woodridge on the 4th of July (www.july4thcarshow.com) I did have it at the 1997 Nationals, was a fun car - ahh memories .... Frank
GS Shari & itpphoto Thank you for the replies..... Been going through phases on how I want to do my Regal, Definitely Pro-Touring ish, but the colors or style or design wans't there. itpphoto Yours gave me what I was looking for, except not going to do the black-out trim treatment( I like chrome), but definately the GSX stripes on a solid color, been leaning towards a PPG Sunset Pearl Orange or a electric metallic blue colors. Different rims...... still in the air over those, I know 17"s or 18"s. Again thanks .......itpphoto.. Awesome ride!!
A GN Regal really gets my attention. But, regular Regals don't catch my eye. However, that GSX theme looks awesome on a Regal!
pooods You getting what I mean,,,,,,,:TU: Can anyone photoshop this pic to the aboved mentioned color combos ? and lower it? Or these next 2 and add the GSX stripes? Love those rims!! They are called Gianna Blitz's Thanks Guys
I like the Regal and the 69. The Regal looks like it could have came that way factory. Hmm maybe Buick could have gone that route. White would look great in the same scheme but the yellow really works. I like that someone did something different on that 69. Good use of accent colors on the stripes.
