8 days isn't really unreasonable, depending on some conditions. Is it a small item that was packed and easily shipped, or something larger that would be more complicated to package and ship? Did the seller give you any indication of an expected ship date? Don't forget to allow for a few days in transit as well.

It's too soon to file a Paypal claim, for sure.

Send him a PM and ask when he expects it to ship. I say the best thing for any deal is good communication. If for any reason there is still uncertainty, I recommend more communication.

:Smarty: There are three rules you must follow when purchasing items from random folks over the Internet:

Rule #1: Buy stuff through ebay, not through Internet chat rooms. Internet chat rooms have no members, just bloggers. Ebayers tend to protect their ratings by sending stuff soon after its paid for. Plus, there are recourse options.

    Rule #2: See #1 above.

    Rule #3: See #1 above

If there are any questions, please see Rule #1 above.

If one person says they're not in a hurry, 8 days is not too long. I've waited several weeks for things, and also made a few people wait longer than I probably should have to get parts out to them. Life can throw many things at you that you don't plan on that can change your schedule.

BTW, I've read the whole sordid exchange on this sale in the original wtb post. Both of you need to relax, it's hard to determine "tone" through emails and posts and I think this one got a little out of hand.:beer

Communication is everything in these situations. If it was boxed and ready to be shipped then there is cause for concern .. but this doesnt mean you will get burned. Send PM..e-mails and phones messages till you get a reply. Try not to make any assumptions just yet and remember; Cooler heads always prevail. I have been through this type of thing a couple of times here and it always ended up OK.
