I have a 56" long (for use with 8.2" axle & TH350) driveshaft and a chevy 8.2" rear axle form a 67 chevelle. The Ujoints in the driveshaft are the same as are used with the 8.5" rear ends. Unfortunately for me the 8.2 chevy axle uses a smaller ujoint bearing on the yoke. I searched, but couldnt find the number for the adapter ujoint that I need. I know ive seen it mentioned before.... Anyone know it offhand? off to google
BTW the ujoints in the driveshaft measure 1.125" diameter caps and the joint overall width is 3.685 or thereabouts. I think the 8.2 side that i need is a smaller diameter cap AND a smaller span. off to search some more
great site I found. http://www.driveshaftspecialist.com/HTML measure/UJ ID Guide.html Looks like I need an adapter from a S44 GM type joint to a 1310 joint.

hah yeah sometimes I am the only one listening. As a side note, I did get the neapco joint and it was exactly what the doctor ordered. Worked perfect. got it at advance Auto Parts - in stock.
