I originally posted this in Pay It Forward but I think it might have been the wrong place so I thought I'd try again here. Just found out my 8.2 Carrier out of my 70 GS 350 is done! Something about where the pins and the spline gears go together, anyway, I was told it's not repairable but my gears were okay and I'm just trying to get my Buick on the road before the third summer goes by since I got it. I'm looking for a good used carrier for a 3:23 gear cheap. Any help here would be appreciated, I can't spring for a $800 rebuild at this time. If I can't find a posi unit soon I'd consider an open rear for the same 3:23 gear. Thanks Matt
Matt i have a 70 skylark here that im parting out. it has an 8.2 but i dont know the gear. im sure its an open rear too.
