Saw this on a locale classified. Not Mine, but may be worth investagating for someone looking for a Regal.Rolla,Mo area. http://shopping.rollanet.org/cgi/index.cgi?mode=view&viewcategory=Automotive&adindex=741952020518
Both 4 and 5 speeds were available in various years on the G-body Regal, 5 speeds were paired with 260 Olds and sometimes 231's. 4 speed cars were either 231's or in some areas 305 Chevy engined cars. :TU:
No doubt the 350 is a transplant, and I don't know if the car was a 4 speed car, I just know there were both 4 and 5 speeds available at least through '79.
Yeah, I remember reading about manuals being available in the late 70's in the g-bodied cars. Then Olds went to the Hurst Lightning rod setup for a few years also.
My brother had a 78 regal factory 4 speed My brother bought a 1978 Regal 4 speed mated to (if I remember right) the 231 (I do know it was a V6) in the early to mid 80's from the original owners who factory ordered it. It always looked so weird to me to see that shifter sticking up out of the floor board while sitting in those thick heavily double plush seats! But it was pretty cool! :TU: Long gone though unfortunately... Tom
Neighbors had a 79 or 80 Olds Cutlass Supreme wagon , G body car with a 231 and a factory 4 spd on the floor , looked really strange with bench seat and such, think it was an "International edition" or something wierd like that. Their son kept threatening to dump a 455 in it, they sold it when he got a license !
