    Radiator

Ok, l I need a radiator. I'm the original poster of this thread, with the 350 V8 in a '78 Le Sabre, with A/C. The Auto parts store says there's either a 28 or 30 inch wide radiator, with 2 or 3 sets of chambers on the inside. My radiator is 36" wide, with 2 sets of chambers. Am I looking at something wrong? All the fittings (cooler lines) seem to be hooked up correctly. I'm not even sure if the radiator is secured at the bottom though, there is some free movement. I would think there would be some bolts securing it at the botttom that can be accessed from under the car.

Oh by the way, my car has 2.41 gears, it still has a tag on it. No burn outs for me anytime soon!

Your parts store guy may be referring to the core size(without the side tanks) and not the overall width(with the tanks).I'm almost sure that your Le Sabre uses the same radiator as my car.Mine came with a two row and I replaced with the three row,I had to modify the rubber mounts to accept the increased width of the tanks, not hard at all to do.TA sells the correct type of wire holders for either 7 or 8mm wires,I've seen some on Ebay also.Good luck.

DEADMANSCURVE my first word : truck

78 lesabre : (a) $200 bucks plus is not an unreasonable amount for four decent quality shocks to be installed for you . i charge $40 bucks apiece for good ( not premium ) shocks all day long and then ya add in $50 - $80 bucks an hour labor and you are there . you may spend 3-4 hours cussin and running into the house for bandaids unless you own torches and an air wrench . time is money . (b) if you can't notice the trans shifting you may want to check that out a little . fluid have a little brown tint to it ? smell a little burnt ? compare to new fluid . new fluid , filter , gasket , cooler and basic street shift kit $125 ( parts only , no labor ) . del

    Car For Sale

I'm thinking of selling the car in the original post. It now has a new radiator and 4 new shocks. I've gone back to trucking over the road and simply do not have the time or resources to continue on with it. The car isn't mint but its still a long way from scrap heap material. Email me geebes_79@yahoo.com or call 507-313-3898 if interested.
