My question is this, I have an '80 Buick Regal that I doing a body off the frame. It seems that the No 3 (Mid Frame) and No 5 (Kick Up over Axle) are just rubber plugs that are pushed into the top of the frame and bolted to the body. Am I correct or can anybody fill me in on what is correct. All of the documentation that I see on-line is for 82-up G body mounts that show the same fasteners (almost) from No. 2 mount through No. 7. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

You can leave the cushions as is and be fine.....if you want you can swap one out to match up with the body captured nut if you are worried about body flex

Thanks George, When I get the body off, I will check them out and do what's needed. The car will be used for street and some limited dragstrip time. What was really confusing was looking at the diagrams for later years and seeing bolts through doughnut cushions documented at these mount positions, but is looking like all I had were rubber cushions pressed through holes in the frame. I have yet to try to lift the body off, but I have the bolts removed at the other positions and all of the other items like steering column, e-brake, brake lines and fuel lines disconnected. Never having done anything like this, I was just preparing to raise the body up and let the rubber cushions pull through the frame.

    Dave:
Lowered the frame a few inches. The no 3. and 5 "mounts" are just rubber pads with out bolts. The manuals state otherwise for no 3, saying that it is like the others with bolts. I will be going to CARS in Neshanic soon, I need to see what they have for other assemblies, interior, etc... Thanks, John W.
