77 Olds 350 in an 85 Regal???

I have asked before about "other" engine swaps in my 85 grandma Regal and I come again for more abuse.

I have been looking for the perfect junkyard jewel to put in my Regal and found that I could either drive 200 miles or more to find a good deal or pay way too much money for a Buick 350 motor because they are considered "a rare find" in central Ohio...I suppose.

Anyway, a guy just up the road from me has a 77 Olds (not sure of the model) with a 350 in it that is running great, no smoke, etc. If I pull the engine myself, he'll charge me $25 and I can keep the crossmember, hoses, etc.

Does anyone know if this is a possible swap? I was going to attempt a sbc 350 but I don't want a Chevy engine and I would have to change too much stuff anyway.

    Thanks,

If you have a 307 olds v8 in your regal then go ahead and buy it. If youve got a 3.8 v6 then you will have a much much easier time putting in a 350 buick. It will use the same motor mounts.

I have the 3.8 n/a in there now. The person selling the engine thought the transmission would bolt on okay but wasn't sure about the motor mounts on the Olds 350. Everyone around here wants way too much money for the Buick 350 or that's what I would be putting in there. I have to borrow a trailer to get the Olds 350 just north of where I live.
    Thanks for the info,

Sounds like a good deal as long as I don't have to invest too much in to the rebuild. I sent you an email.
