I have a photo somewhere in my collection of a Main St setting 1975 Indy parade that featured the LeSabre convertibles in the background, but also several silver Rivieras with red interiors that all had moonroofs and wide red accent striping running the length of the car, similar to the LeSabre striping but a little wider. Seems that the color scheme would be more in line with the '76 pacer.
It is customary for the manufacturer of the featured Indy Pace Car to provide additional cars for track duty (other than pacing laps) for track officials and for the "Festival 500" parade before the race. Most manufacturers provide a range of vehicles such as four-door, convertibles and/or larger vehicles ... and this LeSabre is an example of that. The year prior involved Oldsmobile's Cutlass Hurst/Olds pacing the race and many other versions of the Cutlass like 4 door sedans and even a wagon if memory serves and many Delta 88's.
