    Hi all
Dropped a 75 350 engine and tranny from a LeSabre into my sons Camaro. Here is the problem. Where does the kickdown cable go? There is no connection on the carb linkage for it to connect to. In fact there is no hole in the throttle linkage plate (the one that bolts to the intake) that the throttle cable passes through before connecting to the carb. I know on most GMs there is a second hole in that brack for the kick down to lock into before being connected to the carb. I pulled the engine/tranny over a year ago so for the life of me I don't remember where it connected. Can someone shed some light (or better yet some pics!!!) Thanks in advance! :Do No:

i don't know jack about camaros but I'd look at the firewall near the gas pedal and see if there's a second hole. My 70 lark is that way, the kickdown cable runs above the throttle cable and connects to the gas pedal. Or... just buy the right bracket for the carb and hook it up.

The donor Lesabre may have had the kickdown cable pass through the firewall and connect to the pedal. That's the way Buick usually did it. You may need to go junkyarding for a throtle cable bracket that bolts to the rear carb bolts, and holds two cables. I believe Olds used such a set up. I don't think your Camaro will have the second hole in the firewall, as Chevy hooked the kickdown to the carb.
No matter how you do it, it's going to mean some fabrication. It's not just a case of you are missing something you should have...

Dang! Now that you mention the pedal that is ringing a bell from the donor. I did hit the yard a few days ago and grabbed a bracket that hold both of them but the carb only has the one connection for the throttle. O may have to "invent" someting to bolt to the throttle linkage that will move forward when the gas is hit to attach the kick down to. Thanks for the replies! (Gotta love the fact that I persuaded my son to drop a buick mill into his old chev!!! )
