I found a '74 Riviera GS and was thinking of buying it for the motor. He wants $200 for the whole car, but I see there is antifreeze in the oil pan, so it's junk. I was wondering though if the '74 had the big valve Stage 1 heads?

Is there anyway to verify without pulling a head? Other than the rallye wheels, there is nothing I need from the car. Is the diff valuable?

    Thanks,
    Brian

In 74, the GS on the Riv was just a suspension option; the Stage-1 engine was a separate option.

    Antifreeze in the oil pan....

Might be a blown head gasket or something as bad as a cracked cylinder wall. Only way to tell, is to disassemble the engine.

If the differential is a 3.23 posi, grab it......Sorry, but I don't have the factory codes for the various differentials.
