I was digging through some of my stuff and found a muscle car magazine from 97. Does anyone know if this beautiful 73 Stage 1 4 speed is still around? The picture is a little off, could only scan half at a time and tried to splice them together. Article states Jim Moorhouse as the owner,is he a V8 member?
Mike Berkemeier is now the owner of that exceptional car.I had some pictures that Jim sent me a few years ago and then gave them to Mike for his use.Its a sweet car too. Pat
Wow Im am kicking myself . Mike great car I told you so on the other thread! I was stupid like I said and did not follow thru (No v8 info, newbie e-bayer) I pulled out at the last Minute . Schmidt had us (Probably me) rushing to see which wire transfer would get there first. ( I chickened out ) Great car LOL :beer I ended up with the morrison car a month later, if I bought yours i do not know if I would have bought my 73 Stage 1 Suncoupe 2 months ago. Would love your #. I want yours too! :3gears ou: :TU:
The 73 that Phil ownes has a factory decal in the window that says Suncoupe. It has a factory power sunroof that Buick called a Suncoupe for 73.
From the 1973 Factory installed options price sheet... option code Y59- Sun Coupe w/ manual steel roof $275.00 option code Y42- Sun Coupe w/Electric steel sunroof $325.00
Thank you John & Jason :bglasses: According to Sloan only 40 e. sunroof SUNCOUPES (I will check the totals) Anyone know? Pat, John et al;How many Stage 1's with the suncoupe were built? (Elec or manual) I spoke with A clark at sloan . Says I have all the documents he can supply. See ya all at the Nats.(It seems there were some manual 73 suncoupes?) Will figure it out :beer :bglasses:
According to Sloan documents,In 1973,there were actually 2 choices of sunroofs available and 2 choices of Sun Coupes available. option code Z1 or (Y59) was a SunCoupe manually operated top 254 prod. option code Z3 or (Y42) was a SunCoupe electrically operated required A2(Century 350 Package) 49 produced option code Z2 or (CA1) was a standard type sun roof electrically operated(not SunCoupe) 138 produced option code Z9 or (CO3) was a manual operated sunroof (Again not SunCoupe) 418 produced In 1974 there was a little change made as you could only get the SunCoupe option on the Century line. The Y59 manual roof operated 105 produced and the Y42 electric operated 145 produced. I have a Sloan documented 74 SunCoupe in my registry that was also a Stage 1 car.and I have pictures of another Black 73 SunCoupe which I believe was a Stage I.The Sloan Documentation does not break down the motor sizes and there is no way to tell how many were BB cars or SB cars. Here is what the SunCoupe Decal looks like on the 74 1/4 window that John was talking about. Pat
I can't believe I missed most of this thread. Do you guys think I should PM MIke and tell him we are disscusing his car. I think so. I saw his car when it was on ebay. It was the day me and my dad decided to restore our 73 GS455. I saw this one on ebay that night. They had like 50 pics of it. Only kept three. ou: :blast: :moonu: But that was his car and he bought it. It a beauitful car and Can't wait to see it. What magizene is that from? Anthony
Phil...LOL. I want both of your cars and his. LOL. But I'll buy a factory 4-speed 73 GS someday. Phil...are both of yours restored? Are you coming to Yardley's pinic? o No: :beer Anthony
Thanks Tony; Suncoupe is 68000 mi original. John Csordas cleaned it up :eek2: all original, too many options to list. The 4 speed is at Johns shop now! Yeah its the morrison car, sounds like it will be a fast and sweet, 20 footer :TU: :moonu: Ask John lots of bondo I dont see it but it is there :Smarty: Black car looks great for a runner!! :TU: :beer ou: ou: Yardley's sounds great I will ask around. :beer I aqm thinking about a BBQ before Danbury (marcus Dairy) or before Thornwood. Lots of room and food clean up eat and GO!! :beer :beer :beer :bglasses:
Pat, as you know my brother's car has option Z9. It is a 4-Speed SunCoupe per the decal on the window. The car order form from Sloan shows only the option Z2 or Z9 available. My guess is that if it came with a sunroof, it is a SunCoupe. One in the same.
Do you think you will ever sell? Just wondering. I'm probably gonna go to Yardley's too! You gonna bring one of ur 73s? Anthony
