As some of you LSPBC (Dallas) members know, I just recently picked up a VERY original '72 Sun Coupe from Holliston, MA (just southwest of Boston). I bought it from Keystone Motors there. Well, with all the flooding up that way, it took me nearly two months to get the car shipped down here. Part of the sale was a very full notebook documenting the cars history from day one. The notebook included all the factory books, owner's manuals, window sticker, etc. along with receipts from day one. The car was sold new at Lindsey Hopkins Buick in Marietta, GA and I'm the third owner juding by the Georgia title I got. Well, long story short, the dealer lost the notebook and now they can't find it!!! I am SO pi__ed off about this. :af: :af: I'm thinking someone walked off with the notebook and may be looking to sell it in pieces on eBay. Who knows? Anyway, if any of you guys up that way see some '72 documentation with the last six VIN numbers 156681 please holler! Here's a pic of the notebook.
Just got an email from the dealer........they still can't find it, but they'll keep looking.....................
UPDATE: Two weeks ago, I sent the dealer another email asking for status on finding my notebook, well they finally answered, and basically, they pretty much don't give a @#$%. :af: :af: So, please, if anyone comes across any '72 Skylark paperwork with with the last digits of the VIN "156681", please let me know. :ball: :af:
UPDATE #2: November 15 I got an email thru eBay from the dealer saying they had actually come across my notebook. It had apparently gotten put up on a bookcase for safe keeping. They found it while cleaning out and rearranging their offices. Today they called and said they were finally getting the chance to ship it off to me and to verify my address. Hopefully it'll arrive within the next few days. Will keep ya'll informed.
Would you mind posting some general info in your notebook about your Suncoupe? I own a mirror image of your car but I didn't even get so much as an owner's manual when I purchased mine. Thanksray:
That place is 10 minutes from my house. They always have a few classics there. Were you happy with the car?
While we are on the topic of sun roof material, does anybody know where to get large roof material from? My local top shop can only get the material 49 inches wide. I measured that I would need at least 52 inches. As you know the top portion is a single piece not seamed like a standard vinyl top car. The only seams are on the pillars. Thanks
It arrived!!! The binder with all my cars history finally arrived today. I never thought I'd ever see it.:beer EVERYTHING is in there, including all the original sales paperwork from the original owner, with a BUNCH of receipts. Unfortunately I've not found the window sticker. Oh well! Looks like I've got a lot of sorting and reading to do. Here's a glimpse of some of the paperwork I've got.
Any Suncoupe or sunroof specific paperwork? Nice . When I was looking at the paperwork it looks like the guy traded a car in and had to add that payoff to the price? Must have been a FORD
