I ran across a 455 Stage 1 setting in a garage complete and bone stock. The guy said he was paid real $$$ plus the 455 to pull it out and put in a Chevy 400. Can you believe it? Got any ideas what to offer him. I believe I can get it for a price, but he is not telling me what that price is. Weekender
Is it a Stage 1 by block number, or does it have heads with Stage 1 valves? Is it a runner, or a motor to rebuild?
Very good questions Thanks for your response. These are all very good questions and I will research them. I only spoke with the guy and he said it was a GS motor. I will stop and take a look at it and get some number as soon as I can. Weekender
You'll want the two-letter code on the block, just above and between the #5 and #7 cylinders. It should be visible on the bad that sticks out from where the head and block meet.
