Need some help finding replacement power steering hoses. Tried online and auto zone. Both were wrong. Anyone bought replacement hoses that will fit?
    Thanks

Aint gonna happen... that is unless you can do it yourself. The HP hose has a long pipe on it and OEM called for 2 switchbacks in the line laying flat on top of the gearbox. Thats 2 really tight 180's. My 72 was a leaker and looks shatty and the 64 with a late model pump looks kinda weird with a vertical hose. If you find a good replacement for the HP hose, sing out OK?

The 64 works like a champ, but doesnt really count since its a different pump to gear box than OEM was, but the 72 has that stoopid air pocket hose. I plan on having hoses made this winter. The OEM 64 pump mounted way higher and the pipes you see are what all the parts places carry. Dont even waste the shipping from rotauto; they are the same as well. ws

When mine went, I ended up going to a hydraulic hose shop and they swapped the ends with new hose.

I might have to do that. The biggest issues is finding the one that will even screw in.

If you went to NAPA you could look in the catalog to compare whats available to what you have. Forget about looking at the computer screen images because you cannot compare sizing & routing. Of course you have to know what your looking for to begin with & comparing sizes, etc.

Get the correct fittings , NAPA should have them. Get some 3/8 copper line and some 3/8 rubber hose. Mock up the lines and take them to a truck repair shop and they should be able to make the lines using the correct materials. Most heavy duty truck shops make their own lines or will at least tell you who they use. The advantage of doing it this way is that you can make lines that can fit better than the originals.

if u go to the Gates website, u can find the correct part#. When I purchased the correct high pressure hose from Rockauto, i did not buy the recommended hose but the one I wanted. I advised Rockauto that their part number was wrong but they would hear nothing of it. The number they had was actually for a Riviera.
