Hey y'all - thought the board could use more '72 ragtop pics so here's my progress to date - this was a 1-owner, literally no-option Custom when I bought her 5 years ago outta my hometown - since then I've replaced the doors, floor, carpets, fenders and sectioned both 1/4's (did I mention this was originally a Philly car?) - trunk lid original though and still wears the old dealer name plate!

Ditched the bench early on for buckets but still haven't found decent complete console setup yet.

Also added a rebuilt tilt column and later-model 4-spoke rally steering wheel.

Found the GS hood a few months ago and just fitted it to the car last week.

Drivetrain still the original 350/TH350 2bbl motor to which I added a TA intake, Holley 800cfm, Accel HEI, 3.23 posi and dual exh. Also had to add the p/s and p/b 'cuz it had neither from the factory. This was a radio, heater, whitewall special! Papers that came with the car included a trans rebuild receipt from 1980 and original finance agreement showing $65/month payments

Installed aluminum radiator, all new M&H wiring, rebuilt speedo and repop tach. I redid suspension early on, adding front/rear sway bars and KYB shocks all around. Currently running 15" Chebby rally with 255-60 rear, 235-60 front.

Still to go - trunk floor and another left fender replacement - took a chance on a NOS fender but seems it wasn't made correctly to match the regular production pieces - outer skin sits too low down on the inner, making it sit too far below the hood line. Wish I had thought to check that before putting it on the car.

Still wrestling with whether to replace the current front bumper with a correct '72 piece - was on the car when I bought her and has very cool Navy yard ID decals still in place.

May ultimately repaint original 48A green but haven't completely decided yet.

Nice Scott. thanks for the pictures. Looks like you are driving and finishing? That's what I hope to be doing this summer.

What are the buckets out of? Looks like you are well on your way to having a decent cruiser.

Speedo is just a rebuilt original, recalibrated for the 160mph decal overlay - I need a car that does 160, to get to work :TU:

She's never really been down except for a few weeks over which the 1/4's were being done - other than that I've been driving her in nice weather while I work on different things.

Buckets are aftermarkets from Summit Racing - I essentially traded other parts out for them - unfortunately they're whiter than the factory interior but I have a set of correct Skylark that I'd replace them with if I come with the $$ to restore them someday...
